  • u know a tent would be a lot easier

  • @KidOfMystery

But what if you don't have a tent?

  • does an aimal ever take over your shelter????? like snakes etc,?????

  • We have not had problems with animals --large or small.. When gathering debris bugs pretty much leave, and if the shelter is being used regularly I think the human activity and scent keeps them away. However, when left for a length of time they definitely do move in --especially spiders. We usually take shelters down when we leave.

  • If returning to a shelter that had been left up, I would either take it apart and re-build it, (to chase any critters away), or make a small smoky fire inside to fumigate it.

  • @JimBuller I am probably one of the few people that viewed this clip that actually lived alone off the land (years ago to be honest) But the best thing a human can do to keep bugs and critters away is to urinate around the perimeter of the shelter and the land that you are using (spread the spray out). All scavengers will smell and note that the land is occupied by something or someone, and shy away. Not 100 percent effective but costs nothing and works well. thanks, I hope you keep surviving

  • They taught us this in Air Force survival school.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • The ultimate way to camp.

  • how many times do they say debris?

  • Made a similar shelter at my kids school ( there is a wooded area) . It stood for a year with kids playing in it and the teachers enjoying it also. This is really basic know how, anybody should be able to build one. Good vid anyhow!

  • peace
