Alex Eklund, a student at Baylor University, posted a status on Facebook stating, "I'd rather have a Proverbs 31 woman than a Victoria's Secret Model". Since then, other
Baylor students and their friends have reposted, made graphics, and even a page has been made for it all because of the positive reaction it received from the people that saw it. Here are Alex's thoughts on the movement's beginning as well as some of his goals for the movement and what he believes the message means to so many people. I think that one simple facebook status he posted is so inspiring. I'm a Christian woman and though proverbs 31 is one of the most read things in my own Bible, I had almost given up on trying to be a woman of Godly character, because it seemed like even Christian men were not interested in a girl unless she was flirtatious or wore revealing clothes, It made me feel like being a Godly woman in today's world was useless and unattractive. It's so good to see support for Proverbs 31.

I think it's interesting to look at the Proverbs 31 woman and see that there is probably alot more equality in that relationship than most people realize. The woman makes large financial decisions for the household, and she contributes to the economy of the family by working. Honestly I think Christian concepts of true femininity got messed up in the Victorian Era. The proverbs 31 woman isn't a woman to be condescended to or looked down on for her gender.

Love this :) something that is very refreshing to hear in today's day and age. It's so sad to see what teens and young adults do and change about themselves to fit in. I

I have begun responding to men who ask me what I want in a man by referring to this youtube post. The sad thing is most men are scared of the responsibility that comes with a Proverbs 31 wife. They don't want to be "in charge" they don't want to be the one who makes the final decision in matters. Then they can't blame anyone else. And women are so worried about being "equal" to men in all things that most have forgotten that they are in fact women. That being equal does not make them men.

But once you are married you have already looked for the best characteristics for you (sometimes God has even picked the right one for you). Your wife is the person you will want to spend you life with, not because of her looks (which are like a bonus, but they can fade) but because they love you, but love Jesus even more.

He said victoria secret is for whores, i'm saying that a wife you love can wear what she wants. I'm not responding to the video, I'm responding to "Bro Dean".

It's not sexist to want to be hard working and contributing to the family, nor to want a good responsible spouse. To look good is good, but it is insignificant by comparison.

I don't think that's the point Mmischackk. I think having a beautiful wife who likes to dress sexy for you is perfectly fine. The point is: if we only look at the surface of a woman instead of looking at the character of what makes up a woman, then we've done ourselves an incredible disservice. God wants more for our lives than just that. If you really look at the Proverbs 31 woman, you will see an amazing woman and this is what God wants for us and for her.
