  • Please what is the name of song at 0:01 - 0:05

  • it's a bit of Twisted Sister, We're not gonna take it.

  • yes i know twisted sister, but that guitar riff after we're not gonna take it ^^

  • That's just the original MTV bumper music. If it has a name or is from a song I never heard...

  • I'm sure this has been noted by someone somewhere before, but Guadalcanal Diary was probably the most under-rated and under-appreciated band of the 1980s. And also, thanks for posting!

  • Totally underrated.

  • @watchingclouds lol actually I spoke exactly as I meant too, hence the use of the word sublime.I was commenting on the lyrical and visual sync. and the innuendos contained within. For instance the line "scared elephant burial ground" as we see the gates of Graceland. Watch it a few more times and you'll see what I'm referring to.The actual physical editing of the video blows but that's not what I noticed or was replying to.

  • @remo1366 You sarcasm goes unnoticed, but it's a damn fine song otherwise! Remember when MTV had videos?

  • That is some of the most sublime editing I've ever seen, brilliant!

  • 2:28 - whip your hair

  • @bluetoad7733 If you're local to Atlanta, they're playing a show at Smith's in July 2011.

  • Love the Big Chicken at the end! Classic Marietta landmark.

  • I remember the Basement Tapes. Veiwers would vote on who they felt was the best unsigned band and the winner got a recording contract. Guadalcanal Diary lost to a band whose guitars spun around, like ZZ Top's. Thank God Guadalcal Diary got signed anyway, and Walking In The Shadow Of The Big Man was glued to my turn table for ages.

  • thanks for posting this - great memories!

  • The Housemartins
