My 2 sisters....both aged in their early 20's on January 18th,1977 had just driven off the bold street bridge and were just turning onto Parramatta road on their way to open up our little T/away in North Parramatta when all of a sudden they heard a huge BANG!!!

I too rember this tragic disaster and those who perished. It saddens me to think that we can only learn how to "better" things thru the loss of life...very sad indeed!
Rip to the 83 and blessings to all whos lives were change on that fatal day.

I know a train driver who was a driver in the Blue Mountains at the time and was going passenger on this train to Sydney Terminal where he was going to take a train to Lithgow but luckily he was in one of the rear carriges which were not hit. He doesn't talk about it much, i had to find out about him being on that train of a co-worker of his.

True All the Hero' s Of Granville Should Never Be FOrgoten, Evan at the age of 21 I have a huge amount Of Respect for the People who risked there own lives to save the Lives of the people On the Train, today as I look at the City rail timetable there is now no 6.09am from Mt Victoria as a Blue Mountains Guy Born and Raised in the Mountains in blaxland the closest Train crash I've been to is the Glenbrook one in 1999 (which I was On)
