The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) is the first mission in NASA's planned return to the moon. LRO will launch June 17, 2009, with the objectives to finding safe landing sites, locate potential resources, characterize the radiation environment and test new technology. The return to the moon will enable the pursuit of scientific activities that address our fundamental questions about the history of Earth, the solar system and the universe -- and about our place in them. It will allow us to test technologies, systems, flight operation and exploration techniques to reduce the risk and increase the productivity of future missions to Mars and beyond. It will also expand Earth's economic sphere to conduct lunar activities with benefits to life on our home planet.
well gee dude since they made their orbit and all the instruments are working we will know in a few weeks
and actually I wouldnt be surprised if they do find an old fossilised alein base and ship but they will find our moon landing site also

Don't get your hopes up. The LRO promises 1m resolution.
The alien artifacts question will NOT go away until the 1m resolution images are given to the public and reviewed.
Ever heard of Edgar Mitchell?
Ever heard of Kelly Johnson?
Both have said that some UFOs are real.
So, my bet to you is $1000 that LRO will fail.
If it delivers, i will give $1000 to SETI. If not, you give $1000 to mufon.
Any takers?
