Alber Elbaz credits the women, who regularly visit his boutique, as being his muses for the Fall 2008 collection. The designer also draws inspiration from his mother who recently passed away. From skirts to blouses to dresses, Elbaz shows true craftsmanship injecting many pieces with pleats. There is even a pleated fur coat! The idea of lines, both vertical and horizontal (think: bold striped dress) is a big theme. It's almost as if he made pieces from a single thread that continually wrapped around the body. The collection's color palette was muted and dark, lots of black and pale grey with shots of red and navy. Pants were not as prominent on the runway though the skinny silhouette seems to still reign supreme.

was there some sort of disturbance at the end? i think you can hear someone yell 'son of a', and some of the models seem to look in the direction of the noise. PETA perhaps?
it's a fantastic collection. so dense, so elegant.
