Joes POV:
Uugh... Just where I want to be on a Monday morning... Child Development... NOT COOL!!!! AND this week we get to be parents for a week! YAY! NOT!!!! Ms. Barnet is assigning partners... A boy and a girl to symbolize parents... Just when I thought things could not get worse, in walking a brand new girl, Freshmen probably...

"Um... Excuse me? Im looking for Ms. Barnet... Im Amanda Thomas..."
"Ah, Yes Amanda. You're in the right place..." Ms. Barnet glances at her schedule, and then looks up at the class. "Why dont you have a seat next to Joe." She pointed to me and I dropped my pencil and looked up.
"Huh?"
"Now I left off... at Oh, Joe..."
"Yes?" I glumly looked up at Ms. Barnet. Her out of style rhinestone glasses invading my face.
"Uh, you will be paired with..." She looked up and smiled. "Amanda. Here's your baby..."
Amanda looked at me then looked back down at the table. I slid the baby closer to her.
"Now each of you have a 'spouse' for a week, and a baby to raise. You must take turns taking it home every night, and work together to keep your baby happy and healthy." Ms. Barnet handed each 'family' and packet and continued to give directions. "Your first task is to name your baby, then fill the first two pages out. You have plenty of time, so you should be able to finish in class."

"So?" I said
"So..." Amada replied. Her arms were tucked between her legs. "I guess we should get started..."
"OK..." I groaned. I lifted my head up and actually looked at Amanda. The way the sun hit her made her look beautiful. Her brown hair shimmered and her glasses sparkled. Behind those lenses were two beautiful green eyes.
"Joe?" she questioned. Weaving from side to side.
"Huh?"
"What do you think we should name her?"
"It's a girl?... I mean I dont know...."
"How about... Ruby?"
"Uh... Sure... I shook my head to get myself out my daze.
I watched her write the name down along with some other information. Her left hand dragged over her writing and she dotted her Is with hearts. Aw.. Cute. Whoa! What am I doing?! I have a girlfriend, and Amanda may be sweet, but Im not interested.

The bell rang and everyone rushed to put their things away and get to their next class on time along with a baby and 7lbs. of books.
"Uh, how about I'll take Ruby for now, and I'll see you at lunch..."Amanda smiled and grabbed Ruby and started to head out.
"O-OK.. I'll see you..."

When I arrived at the lunch table, thankfully I had beaten Amanda there. It was just our usual crew, until I spotted Amanda shuffling though the crowd with Ruby bouncing along in her carriage.

"JOE!" She called. She waved and set the baby carriage on the table. She gave me a kiss on the cheek, and I turned bright red.

I saw Demi out of my peripheral vision. She dropped her fork, with wide eyes, and her mouth open.

"Joe, may I see you for a second?" Demi took my hand and led me to a corner in the Cafe. "This'll just take a second..." She whispered to Amanda.

"OK, OK I know youre mad... but just let me explain..." I motioned my hands to try to calm Demi down.
"JOSEPH JAMESON! I see you first thing in the morning, and then at lunch I see some girl smacking on your face?!" Demi exploded, her hands over her head.
"I can explain... I just met the girl this morning... and-"
Demi raised her eyebrow.
"OK that didnt come out right... What I meant was in Child Development class, in comes this new girl, Freshman, and Ms. Barnet paired her and me together to be a theoretical family along with a baby. So I guess she took it the wrong way... when Ms. Barnet said get to know your spouse over the next few days, so she thinks it's OK to give me a kiss on the cheek. I have no interest in her, I just met her, and she doesnt understand, nor doe she know Im taken..." I was out of breath from talking so fast.
I could see our table from where we were standing, and Selena, Nick, Amanda, and Frankie were staring at us. Demi turned around and smiled them turned back to me. She took my had and led me back to our table.
"Miss... I think youre misunderstanding.. This is Joe, he is my boyfriend."
"Hi Amanda, meet Demi, my girlfriend. Demi say hi to Amanda." I squeezed in.
"Oh my gosh, Im so sorry, I didnt know... Im so sorry Demi..." her cheeks turned bright red. that kiss was SO not necessary, I dont know why I did it..."
"It's OK.. I forgive you, it was all a misunderstanding..." Demi smiled and motioned for everyone to take a seat.
