Kenya is tonight mourning the death of Rowland Lenya, a brave Kenyan who was among the first people to publicly declare their HIV status some 20 years ago, barely 5 years after the first HIV case had been isolated by scientists. Lenya who died at the age of 60 was recognized for championing the rights of people living with the virus and his death comes at a time when experimental trials for an HIV vaccine are on the verge of success.
