It was to hide footwork
-
@karatecat3 Not exactly... The hakama is a pair of samurai riding chaps that they would wear to protect the clothing underneath from dust and horse sweat. Nothing to do with hiding their footwork. It then became a part of training tradition.

somebody has been watching too much anime.
-
just because we do this for show doesn't mean that we can't actually fight ... good job kalman !!!
-
pretty cool
-
VERY weak routine. Didnt do one thing with his left hand.
-
HAHAHA, ok guys in the event that we need to have a sword battle, we will call you awesome samurais ROFL, listen, kalman is a martial artist, a real one, he can fight, and he can use his sword to cut for real if he needs to this is a SHOW and in this show he is the best, I LOVE YOU GUYS! pure entertainment with the "wouldnt last in a sword battle" i ask, whens the last sword battle anyone has been in? BAHAHAHAHAH
-
@FnarEva i totally agree with you
-
lame. and those people can't shut up already. nobody cares if you know him.
@legendarygrave
I understand these are sort of..erm...display routines...with martial arts inspiration, right?
Because as you pointed out there is nothing of swordsmanship in it.
I guess it's how seriously they take themselves. If it is not meant to be a martial art, then it's ok.
But if it is...tsuki..tsuki...tsuki... pure and open target during all the time.
As a kendoka I find this highly amusing.

@Karateforlife777
Don't be such an idiot, this has nothing to do with martial arts; it's just supposed to look impressive.
But I'm not about to argue with someone named "Karateforlife777". You're either a clever troll or a complete loser.
You have no place calling anyone a faggot.
