agreed. take the hooks out if at all possible. those things don't just rust and
drop out next week. they've got barbs and a lot of them are mfgd to withstand salt water
corrosion

i think its funny he wants to cut it free and not get the hook back. i've been diving and seen those things 300-500 lbs with leaders out the corners of their mouth like spaghetti
