Steve Gregg's book on Revelation

Revelation - Four Views
A Parallel Commentary by Steve Gregg
(published by Thomas Nelson, 1997)

This truly unique volume has done what no other book has ever done—namely, it has presented the four dominant approaches to the Book of Revelation side-by-side, in parallel columns, for ease of reference. Steve's own views about Revelation may be learned from his lectures on the subject, but they do not come out in his commentary.

When asked about his reasons for writing the commentary in this non-committal fashion, he answered, "There didn't seem to be any point in writing another commentary defending my personal view of Revelation as correct, since there were already plenty of commentaries out there espousing each respective position. What was lacking was a book that even-handedly presented the very best arguments for each view, side-by-side. There was not a niche in the field of Revelation literature for another ordinary commentary, but there was, in my opinion, a crying need for one that made this kind of comparison readily accessible. Besides, by not committing myself to one position, I remain free to change my mind in the future, without having to issue a public retraction!"

This is probably the only commentary on Revelation in which the author does not espouse any view above another, but attempts to give each approach a genuinely fair hearing, trusting the reader to make his or her own informed decision as to which view to embrace. As a large reference book, this commentary is not likely ever to be a best-seller, but it has received critical acclaim from reviewers of various persuasions. We have yet to see a negative review of the work. Some of the reviews we have found on the Internet are reproduced below.
