Arduino to Flash range sensor experiment

More info at http://jamesalliban.wordpre... I've been playing around with the Arduino microcontroller recently and this is my first experiment. It's a prototype for a future artwork that essential...

What kind of Data does the sensor Return?

is it a X,Y situation?! or just Proximity to screen and Closeness to the sensor?

It only returns one value. If my memory serves, it is the amount of centimeters the object is from the sensor.

Is there also a way to record these motions as animations to for instance add music to?

Very interesting. While most other touch sensing solutions employ light or electrical resistance, yours seems to be sonar based... it'd be cool to see what kind of weird phenomenon you could come up with by doing it that way. Perhaps some sort of feedback tricks using the delay from the sound waves?
