@FreakBoi2008 The only way major record labels would be able to own all the content on the internet is if they receive a special handout from the government to do so. That's what you see so much of in the US today, and is the same reason you have the bullshit with WMG. That's not capitalism, that's corporatism. Government is the only creator of monopolies in history.

In a truly free market you would have other competitors competing with you, and you cannot be a monopoly.

@madderbass You are pro capitalism and anti democracy? Well, in your Randist free-market utopia, this band would not be able to exist either. If capitalism wasn't regulated, ISP's and major record labels would own all the content on the internet, this sort of music doesn't make enough money for the labels to sign them but, as you must have noticed, companies like to squash competition. "Oh, that venue plays independent music. Well then, we'll buy it out and only play the bands on our label."

@FreakBoi2008 Capitalism is the only moral social system that removes the physical force from human relationships. No man or group may initiate the use of physical force against others. Men are free to cooperate or not.

Therefore, if it weren't for capitalistic merits that still even exist to an extent in Europe, this band wouldn't exist. A socialist country may temporarily allow freedom of speech, but if it weren't for capitalism beforehand, that freedom of speech may not exist.

@FreakBoi2008 Democracy? No, democracy is mob rule, and is something I loathe. Don't assume anything.

It's not just freedom of speech, it's also marketing. Do you honestly think in a centrally planned economy where the government controls everything, a band such as this would be marketable, or even allowable?

Socialism and communism are different as well. In Soviet Russia for instance, if this band for instance were against communism, the KGB would arrest them and kill them.

@madderbass I think you're mixing up capitalism with democracy. As much as Fox News tells you otherwise, they are two completely different things. Also, communism and capitalism aren't the only two political philosophies out there. What's funniest about this is that, despite your assertion that "bands like this wouldn't exist" outside of capitalist countries, Norway has a huge extreme metal scene and their government is democratic-socialist, not capitalist.
