Eric Laithwaite, inventor of the linear induction motor for MAGLEV trains, gave the 1974 Christmas Lecture at the Royal Institution of Great Britain where he proposed that gyroscopes displayed antigravity effects. In 1994 the BBC broadcast a 30 minute documentary entitled "Heretic - Eric Laithwaite" discussing Laithwaite's claims. These videos are available at www.gyroscope.org. From 22:00 - 25:00 minutes of the Heretic video Laithwaite demonstrates the "weight loss" produced by a large spinning rotor and states that nobody has ever explained to him how this happens. My video, and especially the website http://funphysicsfacts.dyndns-wiki.com/wiki/fun_physics_facts, shows that gyroscopic effects do not produce antigravity and the website rebuts Laithwaite's claims.
