This video represent the idea of women that has been passed on through the centuries by a mail point of view and a female point of view. It shows how women have been victimized, suffocated, mistreated, considered less than - and how every time they resurrect and are pushed down again. As long as women are objects, nothing happens to them, it's when they become conscious of their strength that their troubles begin. The song is a classic neapolitan song sung by a man who says he is been victimized by the woman he loves. The use of the song is, of course, ironic.
The video wants to respect and describe the paintings, not over-impose a point of view. It is a "lesson" in the making and meaning of art making.
