Paul Godwin was a violinist, and was born Pinchas Goldfein in Poland in 1902. He started his first band after being thrown out of the conservatory for playing dance music.
The band broke up in 1933 when he fled Germany and settled in Holland, where he became a prominent classical soloist. He died there in 1982.
