It's been awhile, I guess. I'm just a mix between busy and bored of Mario hacking stuff. I mean, what's the point? It's pretty nifty to the few viewers who see it, but then 5 days later it doesn't matter at all. So, that's why I've stopped, and that's why this will probably be the last music hack I upload. Maybe once that level importer comes out I'll make a few, but I think I'm done with all of this "hacking". It doesn't interest me anymore.

Anyway the reason why I did this one was because VL-Tone (Starxxon) uploaded the actual Spiral Mountain level in Super Mario 64 and I thought it was totally awesome. So I thought it'd be cool to see what the song sounds like using the instrument sets from Super Mario 64, and while it's messy (as always), it came out pretty alright. I could've fine tuned it a lot more, but that would've taken a long time, so I didn't.

Enjoy.

  • super mario 64 beta?

  • When this music started, I was joyful with nostalgia and then I couldn't help but laugh at how well this went with Mario getting his ass wupped the first couple of seconds against the Whomp King. Other than that, I love it.

  • @Wolliap Yeah, looking back at this rendition Spiral Mountain sounds more like a circus than the old classic folksy style the original had :P

You should check out the new version! It's better!

  • May I please get an mml/m64 file for this? I tried making one myself, but it had too many notes and wouldn't import. I kinda wanna make this music for my main HUB. Could I get a file?

  • @cpuHacka101 Alright, give me a bit. I could do this better using messiaen/frauber's newer tools.

Oh yeah, the new version. That one was nostalgia to the max, it was pretty much perfect. I wish I could develop the skill to do this, but as of now, I am stumped as to how to make MIDI files, I hate the WIDI converter. If onlythere was an area to get MIDI files...

  • This is nice and all, but I know that Mario 64 has a banjo instrument, so this could be done a lot better.

  • I apologize for being an excessive retard. :P
