Frank Noonan performance from Feb 18, 2011. "When You're Smiling" is a song made famous by Louis Armstrong, who recorded it at least three times, in 1929, 1932, and 1956. Duke Ellington also recorded it several times earlier in his career. Many others have recorded it including Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra and Patti Page. Cliff Bruner brought it to the country charts in 1939. In 1961, Judy Garland performed the song at the Judy at Carnegie Hall concert. Dean Martin also sang it, sometimes parodying it as "When You're Drinkin'"
