@DoradoGate Weight!

Bonded the rear triangle to the front triangle. Huh. That's probably the most significant thing he mentioned, in my opinion.
I just read some gushing review of a single-speed Tranny, talking about how it handles Lopes' 30 foot launches; I'd feel safer knowing the independent rear triangle was glued to the front, too.
That reviewer could have done some more homework.

Nice bike

Maybe because the 44 is lighter. Maybe because he can run a 15mm thu axle instead of the 20mm. Maybe because he can run 140mm of travel instead of just 100mm.

How come that hardtail is ain't shown in the Ibis website?

The Ibis Tranny frame is on the website. Lopes' signature race bike is not, but the standard Tranny hardtail is on the Ibis site. The main difference is the bonded rear triangle on Lopes' race bike for additional rigidity.

they should put an old axle between the dropouts so you don't damage your bike during transport.

That fork is 44 ATA Micro 2009, designed for AM and XC.
Why aren't they using Marzocchi Four Cross?

Good question...better suited to Lopes though. Must have been his choice. Maybe he likes the feel of that one better (?)
