UPDATE: This program will do ALL the necessary conversions for you.
http://filetrip.net/f26844-3DS-Video-v0-1-BETA-0-1-0-1.html

What you will need:
Any Video Converter , I use one called Total Video Converter...but honestly it sucks.
3ds
Sd Card
Video Under 10 mins long.

Step 1: Video Configuration
Open your video with your converter and choose AVI and set the codec is MJPEG (motion Jpeg).

Step 2: Go into the Advance Video Options and format to these settings
Frame Rate : 20
Bit Rate: 1295
Video Size: 480 x 240

Step 3: Configuring the Audio
Go into audio settings and format to these settings.
Codec: ADPCM_IMA_WAV
Audio Channel: Single Channel
Sampling Rate: 16000
Bit Rate: 65

Step 4: Convert your video and load it to you SD Card and go into DCIM then the 100NIN03 folder where 3ds puts your photos/videos you take.

Step 5: Rename the Video HNI_****.AVI, where **** is 4 numbers is any number after the last photo/video you've taken. Example is if you have HNI_0060.jpg/mpo, your video needs to be a number after that such as 0061

Step 6: Launch 3DSCamera and go to view photo/video, It will ask u to update the listing. If it doesnt ask this, check to make sure you have the proper name.
If you dont set a creation time, your video will be in a 1/1/1900 folder.

  • I converted 3 videos, and put them on the SD card. I could only access the first video on my 3DS. I converted them all with the program without closing it or opening again. I'm using v1.00, so should I close and open the progam each time I want to convert a video?

  • @BadLarryFilms wats the video's stats after u convert (time, names, etc)

  • @SilverWolfZhane

    Time: 1min 48sec

Name: Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary E3 2011 Debut Trailer HD

File Name: HNI_9998.AVI (9999 worked on first video, so I'm thinking this sin't the problem)

    Framerate: 20fps

    Bit Rate: 128kbps

Audio Channels: 2 (2 channels worked on first video)

    Thanks for helping me out.

  • @BadLarryFilms keep the name what the converter makes it.. its something like vid_*numbers here*, 3ds acts a little odd with HNI some numbers work and others dont

  • @SilverWolfZhane I figured it out. It didn't like my WMV files (even though they were converted), but I could view my converted MP4s. Thanks for the help.

  • @BadLarryFilms ok , good luck

  • @SilverWolfZhane it is only converting the left side of the video

  • Things that You Need

    A Video Converter

    3ds (Duh)

  • how i get to advance options

  • @BadLarryFilms Didn't work.

  • @SilverWolfZhane I figured out that it isn't the fact that I have multiple videos, and it only lets me access the first video, but instead it's only letting my access one particular video, and it won't let me access the others, even if there is only one video on the SD. I tried to access the above stated video when it was the only video, and it didn't show up. Next, I'm going to only have the video on the SD; no other pictures/videos.

  • @SilverWolfZhane I got the same result as with the HNI_****.AVI files.

Have you managed to be able to access multiple videos?

  • @SilverWolfZhane OK. I'll try it, but I'll be gone for a while. I'll get back to you tomorrow if it works or not.
