  • Khan picks his feet in Phoughkeepsie.

  • @55kudu - Very astute!

  • @Best4SciFiReloaded You are a hero. Your contribution to youtube will not be forgotten.

  • Such a classic episode. But I always had a problem with the plot-line of the movie how the Reliant didn't know they were setting down on Ceti Alpha Five instead of six. In any episode they pick up radiation and debris from exploding stars and planets light years away (i.e The Doomsday Machine), plus a schematic should have read that the solar system was missing a planet! Also Chekov came in the second season, made very clear he had just signed aboard. He could know of Khan, Khan didn't know him!

  • @TheGreatPrince Indeed, quite a ruthless character.

  • @Rbatty2

It's not hard to see how Khan thought. All of his confrontations or social interactions involved utility i.e. through her ability as a woman to reproduce, or feigned first impressions toward the good doctor and shipmates in order to attain literature on their ship's and it's technology, and then finally, an attempt to tyrannize the fleet altogether.

Eugenics is being manifested in Khan: need for control by dehumanization + humanity as a super-organ, and not free individuals.

    Tyranny.

  • One of the best of the best episodes ever.

  • Oh yes, that was his real agenda no doubt. I think at least he respected her for choosing to go with him rather than settle for some posh Federation prison. And certainly being trapped on Ceti Alpha V for many years [assuming she didn't die right away] would have allowed a chance to bond since it was a pretty small colony for a big planet. Maybe in exile, his obsession had to justified so she "became" his wife. Since I'm not a genetic superman, I'm not sure how Khan thinks, hee hee!

  • This makes sense, though I cannot assert he was really in love with McGivers, the impression I've got is that he used her to take over Enterprise.
