Tracy Kennick a Mormon from Beaumont, Texas, describes her role as a newscaster, mother and woman of faith.

This video is one in a series of videos The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released to better inform the public about differences between the worldwide church based in Salt Lake City and the polygamous group in Texas that calls itself the FLDS.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - whose members are often called 'Mormons" - placed a series of video interviews on its web site to illustrate the differences between its own members in Texas and members of the isolated polygamous group.

The Texas Mormons featured on the video interviews include a director of community theater, an orthopedic surgeon, a Justice of the Peace, a former Houston Oilers quarterback, a news anchor and a young woman with aspirations for medical school.

  • I hate it when people get the Church confused with the fldS and the Reorganizeds LDS church. It's just one more thing that the adversary is doing to spread distrust. Be strong O' saints.

  • I'm Mormon and I don't have anything against any other faith. I believe everyone has the right to worship how they choose. The only thing I don't like is the same thing any member of any other faith wouldn't like. I don't want to be confused with another faith in regards to what I believe. There are common threads between all religions. But, I wouldn't think my Baptist friends are Catholic, and I wouldn't think my Catholic friends are Baptist, simply because they do share some common beliefs.

  • The problem is that most 'members' have NOT done their homework and they believe in things that aren't even aligned with what was taught by their original 'prophet'. The FLDS and RLDS church are MUCH more aligned with the originators in their 'practices' and the 'mainstream' general authorities put these other splinter groups into existence to 'preserve' the original teachings while the mainstream had to capitulate to the law. This woman is ignorant of this fact

  • @shaunamom4 James 1:5

  • Is Joseph Smith is the prophet for both ?

How many versions of the Mormon faith are there ?

  • The Book of Mormon reveals what the term gospel truly means. The Lord declared, This is the gospel which I have given unto you—that I came into the world to do the will of my Father, because my Father sent me. (3 Ne. 27:13.) That sentence is as sparklingly clear as it is brief. The Savior then explained in fuller detail His mission and His atonement (see 3 Ne. 27:1321), concluding His definitions by again saying, This is my gospel (3 Ne. 27:21).
