The communities of Groveland, Big Oak Flat, and Pine Mountain Lake,
About 26 miles from the Yosemite Park entrance,
Gold was first found in the area by James D. Savage who began mining about 1851. (The area was first called Savage's Diggings).

Such a wonderful place. I spent most of my childhood there with my grandmother. I plan on making a permanent trip there after my stay in  Afghanistan.

My girlfriend and i spent the month of September 08 in California, Groveland was our favourite town by far, we stayed in the Hotel Charlotte for 2nights, survived priests grade got the t-shirt hehe, and who could forget Goose the dog, i believe he made mayor? If i had the funds id buy a summer home in that magical town.. I shall be returning again but 4a longer stay

I have lived in Big oak flat and Groveland all my life...31 years now! I didnt think of it as a beautiful place as much till i seen this video..thank you =)
