@konshess: Your average person on the street does not appreciate the technical mastery and creativity of someone like Danny Gatton. It's a sad fact, though true. He's almost too advanced for some people to take in. Most people like music with words, and DG didn't sing. That's another mark against him far as getting radio play was concerned. If he'd been able to sing well, he'd have been like Vince Gill. He played so many styles, I don't think his label knew how to market him.

I had the pleasure of seeing Danny and his band about a year before Danny killed himself, WOW! What an experience, he was a true show man. He is missed.

I'm With Jwade227 With What He Said and Not to Take anything away from Clapton and Hendrix But Country Guitar is always overlooked when it comes to more Popular Genres like rock and in my Oppinion it's Rock who can't hold a candle to these guys why do you think Rock Guitar Players Never Talk about Country it's because they Know Them Country Boys are more Skilled and they are more versitle.

Well, actually, nobody could carry Jimi's guitar case. Jimi is the ruler of all time. However, Jimi would have been in awe of Danny, and he]'s nowhere close to Danny's in techniquw. Nobody is. But, please, Jimi was from another planet. Danny was a human being and he surpasses all guitar players in technique. Noboby can come close. Danny would love Jimi and vise versa. We're dealing with apples and oranges. Jimi was the greatest EVER. So was Danny. I hope that's OK with you all.
