Made for TAG 2010 (32nd conference of the Theoretical Archaeology Group).
For this experimental piece I have taken my own super 8 footage of a familiar archaeological site (Avebury) and decontextualised it using minimal post-production techniques - namely slo-mo, cropping and freeze-frames. The resulting abstract images have then been juxtaposed with newly recorded, non-directed and non-scripted, voice-over. The sound effects originate from a variety of sources.
This is a project that I wish to develop further. This is the Sound of Archaeology.
