PLEASE READ THIS FIRST
The download function on the older free versions of RealPlayer saves most video files as .flv (which is fine) but some videos are saved as .ivr files that cannot be played on any other application or converted to another format. You COULD burn on to disc but that means you have to upgrade to a paid version of Real but hey!

Easiest way is simply "upgrade" your free version to the lastest free version. Real have amended their software so it no longer saves these files as .ivr but as .rm

You can get free .ivr convertors on the net but they will vary in functionality.

Hope this helps - comments welcome ...

  • this doesn't tell you how to convert ivr files.

  • also - the write up does state "PLEASE READ THIS FIRST" - this is a clue that you should read it BEFORE watching the video (or at least afterwards to get clarity) ... in the write up I make it plain that converting .ivr files is not generally possible - there are convertors out there but they have limited functionality (eg. maximum 10min length for video etc.)

  • Oh right I thought it would be my fault. Why don't you just change the title so you don't have to deal with people watching a video that purports to do something it doesn't > ie: Hey check out: my video of a dog - oh yeah but make sure you read the blurb first - it doesn't actually contain a dog.

  • yes you're right it was your fault ... come on drevpile, its just a video, not the end of the world!!! You're upset because the title of my video is misleading - and yes it is misleading - i've not denied that - nevertheless I am not too proud to respond to suggestions, so in keeping with the characteristics of "humility" I have duly amended the video title

  • salutes. It was almost the end of my world. Thought you might be interested to know that pretty much the only way to actually "convert" - [and i use the term loosely] these stupid files, is to do a screen/audio capture with some thing like camstudio.

  • cool! i really don't know why they even created these .ivr files - they are useless in terms of flexibility ... anyway thanks for that info - and thanks for the banter!! lol .. "its good to talk" ...

  • get the VoxTonePRO for your PBX system prompts. just google the word "VoxTonePRO" for more info.

  • AVS Video Converter 6 can convert ivr, though not exactly free...

  • I just converted an ivr video file into avi! I used an AVS trial package and it converted it fine. The only catch is there's a watermark on it for the first minute or so! Type in convert ivr on google and you should get a match on it!

  • i know they're absolutely rubbish. Sorry that my frustration with the file in part ended up directed at you. Real should just call it a day.

  • You must say or indicate where we can find the convertor not only p=making propaganda. Lol
