I would create it with hempcrete, it would never crack, it would breathe, never mold, hempcrete lasts for centuries without wear and tear. Then one could spray it with hemp plastic to reinforce it. Hemp plastic is stronger than steel.

@smoketuff1 I'd love to see it too, I don't know the cost analysis, it'd be something to find out and experiment on. It would be awesome!

@spiritprofessor I would like to see that, has it been done yet? Do you have a cost analysis, you're on the right track from where I can see

@houfrz Do a test. Take a bowl place it a piece of wood upside down. Gentle place a small brick on the bowl, place another on the bowl. Keep adding bricks till it crushes the bowl.

Anything green cost two to three times what it should right now because that's where the money is.

"Originally named Winter Garden Ice Rink when it debuted at BYU’s 1963 Winter Carnival, the Ream’s Turtle was a triaxial elliptical dome, 240’ long, 160’ wide and 40’ high at its center. At a cost of about $75,000, Dr. Wilson said that he thinks the Ream’s Turtle was the most economical building of that size ever built. " - - ..... but somehow they cost more to build that traditional homes.... and spiritprofessor agreed. When I am ready to build a home it will definitely be a hempcrete dome

David, this was not meant for you. I humbly apologize. It was meant for a company in Israel that is getting on other people's sites. I removed the comment so, you can remove yours as well so there is no conflict. I appreciate all the folks at Monolithic as well. Take care! Art

@ThinkPureTruth I believe you have me confused with someone else because this statement is unfounded when applying it to me. I am located in the United States, and never stopped operations, nor have I not followed up on any leads.

@nathaleafalcon where do you find iformation about ecodome homes

but Uncle Owen I was hoping to go join the academy!
We need quality homes that go up quicker and cost less overall. We don't need 15% more..we need 30-45% less!

That is an issue and one reason there aren't more of these going up. But it's a case of instant gratification. You can build a cheaper home, but the cost of ownership is going to be much more. These homes will save more in energy costs and repair bills than you put out on the construction. And they go up much faster than conventional homes. They are also much more structurally sound.

people are just trying to get the most money now ,as an excuse of the dome style, even though domes have been around since begginings of civilizations, and in reality it costs about 1/3 of your average box

These are concrete constructions, not panels or geodesic.
