Sacred Heart University Chapel Bell: Baptism of Esther

Today, August 27, 2009 the first and largest bell will be hung in the Chapel Tower! This morning at 11:00 a.m. we will gather in the current daily chapel and then proceed outside for the baptizing of this bell. This is an ancient Catholic tradition. This bell will be named Esther and has the inscription in Hebrew, Hear O Israel, the Lord your God is God alone.




Over the next several days the other bells will be hung. During the first week of the new academic year we will gather for the first ringing of the bells.
