Agreed! She's the best Elizabeth Bennet ever. Colin Firth got more well known eventually but she's just as good as him.

@maryfares28 Depending on her audience. :) Having lived in both the United States and England, both accents are authentic for her. Look up her speech at the 2007 Tonys to hear her speaking in her American accent!

I looked several times and can not see where Colin was sitting that close to her. Besides i'm sure the camera would have shot over to him when she thanked him. This movie was just to huge at the time and their so called romance - i'm sure the camera would have captured him better. If this is the same BAFTA ceremony and I think it is - when Emma Thompson won hers - Colin was sitting pretty much in the front row - the camera zoomed in on him before Emma was named.

Colin Firth was himself a nominee for Best Television Actor at this ceremony. (He lost out to Robbie Coltrane.) His seating position was clearly shown - I'll add the clip soon.
Jennifer Ehle is at the end of the row; to her right, her father, John Ehle; to his right, Colin Firth's partner, Livia Giuggioli (now his wife); to her right, Colin Firth.

There is a very brief and blurred glimpse of Colin Firth at 2.47 - he is sitting 3 places to the right of Jennifer Ehle.
