Two weekends later, I returned to the Delaware River Railroad excursions in Phillipsburg, NJ. This time, I got all of the shots I wanted, the weather was great, not a cloud in the sky, and I got video that I'm actually pretty happy with. #142 was running great today, and the people running the railroad were very accommodating and they run a world-class operation there. Enjoy this video, and don't forget to watch my other videos! Share with friends!

  • So, the 142 isn't with the Susquehanna anymore? Man that sucks! she was only built in 1988 for them, and now she's on a tourist railroad??? why order a brand new steamer in 1988 if you're not gonna hold onto it for a long time??? Nice video By the way.

  • @SierraRailway The 142 is now with the Bel-Del, exclusively I believe. I'm sure it's for the same reasons that NS originally stopped their steam program, or many other mainline railroads have stopped theirs. Insurance, probably. Don't quote me on it though. Thanks!

  • This place is awesome if you are wondering

If you go on the 1130 train, and you get there early, you normally see NS freights

so thats my advice, get there early, railfan the NS

    Then ride 142

  • @ooGAMINGoo This I know - I was there both times before the 142 started her run, and saw freights both times. I just never get up there that early to railfan the freights at all.

  • The 142 no longer does the long excursions in NJ like from Susquehanna Transfer across the river from Manhattan to Baird's Farm Warwick, NY? When did those stop? I was on the train Oct 2000. 142 actually hooked on to the train at Little Ferry, NJ with the E diesels on the rear. I was on the 142 at Phillipsburg twice, the last time the corn maze train a few years ago. The 142 is actually closer to me now, since I live just west of Allentown, PA. Wasn't it running this year? Is the ride any longer

  • @ooGAMINGoo We got stuck with a 153 car train at the crossing at that railroad food place. Also, it was going about 12 miles an hour, but with 5 engines. So that delayed our train a half hour.

  • Nice vid!

  • who was the engineer this time?

  • I've never been there before, but after seeing this, I really want to go there. Nice video!! :D
