It may be better technique wise...but I much prefer Ms.henshall's version. This has no emotion at all. It is just...sang. flat.

My first impression was - 'too operatic', but I have to give it to her - what fabulous diction! I'm not a Henshall fan at all but in the dramatic moments, Henshall wins hands down over Rebecca Caine. Try to get to see this live in Ostrava, Czech Republic, especially when Hana Fiala sings the lead. I'm just about to buy the Japanese version on CD for USD 35! Ostrava has the benefit of beautiful new orchestral arrangements by a famous arranger from Broadway - the results are stunning!

It ran from May - September 13th 2008 at the Haymarket :)
One of the best shows i have ever seen i think, magnifique! And Ms. Henshall was superiour, as always! :D

Correct :)
the show only ran for three months on Westend, although why, with such beautiful music and a fabulous story line, I'll never know.

As much as I love Ruthie Henshall (and believe me, I'm a huge fan), I have to say that this is the most perfect rendition of this song. Rebecca's voice and technique is incredible and the emotion pours through, especially at the end. Lovely!

I wish Marguerite comes to Broadway.
-
Did she ever play in this musical? Only Ruthie played in it right?
-
I love Ruthie, but this technique and delivery is like a bell ringing through butter on bread. Er...as in, perfect.

She has a wonderful voice.
But I prefer that song with Ruthie!!!
it's a beautiful song and she sings it beautifully, but I prefer Ruthie Henshall's rendition :)
