Åkerfeldt is one of my favorite vocalist and guitarist. When I first heard Opeth I was like "wtf! sounds like Old School Rock n' Rol' (thou I love old school rock n' roll). But when I bought the Blackwater Park album I was like, 'Damn, my friend should listen to this.'

@adw001Some growling do sound pretty juvenile. Ive never been a fan of pig squeals and that sort of thing. But Åkerfeldt has a deep commanding growl. I like to see growling as a dramatic effect that is supposed to sound inhuman. Like a disembodied voice.
