This is a video of one of my demos. I thought i'd edit together clips from here and there into videos to go along with some of my demos, rather than just the sound. Since people often have a limited attention span, thus a video may lure them into listening for longer.

The track is BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN written by Booker T. Jones and William Bell and originally performed by Albert King and then Cream and also Jimi Hendrix. Kind of based more on the Hendrix version, which was an instrumental. This is heavily instrumental but does include some vocal. So it's kinda unique and different to in some way to each of the other versions.

BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN

Words & Music by B. T. Jones / W. Bell
Additional Words by J. Hendrix / E. Shi

guitar - Esan Shi
drums - Esan Shi
bass - Esan Shi
vocal - Esan Shi

Recorded / edited / mixed / produced by E. Shi

It's basically my demo version of "Born Under A Bad Sign" written by Booker T Jones and William Bell. It was recorded in one take and completely improvised on the spot. As well as words taken from the original composition, it also includes some words written by Jimi Hendrix from some of his jam sessions.

"Seven dollars in my pocket" etc.....

As well as that, I included a line of my own words that fit in coming straight after that, to complete that phrase.

"Been washed up, hung out to dry, by a woman's evil spell."

LYRICS:

Born under a bad sign yeah
I've been down since I began to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck
I wouldn't have no luck at all

Bad luck and trouble (been my) only friend
I've been down since I was ten
Born under a bad sign
I've been down since I began to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck
I wouldn't have no luck at all

Seven dollars in my pocket
And my heart is broke as hell
Seven Seven
Seven dollars in my pocket
But my heart is broke as hell
Been washed up hung out to dry
By a woman's evil spell

Keep checking for more demos as there will always be more to come.

And add my musical space http://www.myspace.com/shinkongo too. It's not complete yet but it will be updated soon with all demos.

Video clips taken from:

Raven / Crow clips (believe it or not) from.....

ストリートファイターII MOVIE (Street Fighter II MOVIE / Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie)

and

機動警察パトレイバー The Movie (Kidō Keisatsu Patoreibā The Movie / Patlabor: The Movie)

Black cat clips from the music video of Stevie Ray Vaughan's version of Superstition.

Along with my own footage and shots of the cover of the Albert King album "Born Under A Bad Sign", the Cream album "Wheels Of Fire", and the Hendrix album (or rather, posthumous collection of out-takes) "Blues", all of which "Born Under A Bad Sign" appeared on. It's been done by a lot of other people too.

The original "Born Under A Bad Sign" composition was performed by Albert King on the album of the same name and then by Cream on the album "Wheels Of Fire", as well as the Jimi Hendrix release entitled "Blues" and written by Booker T. Jones & William Bell. That and footage used in the video are all copyright/the property of the respective owners.
