No Magpie400.... it was about a foreign power (Cathlolic, protestant or Buddist Monks it makes no difference) that had occuppied 9 counties and had forced foriegn laws on the citizen's of Ireland.

Laws by the way which made them 2nd class citizens or worse in their own country.

They are then painted as scum by the British ........give me a break!!

You're right mate it is nothing to do with the Irish wanting their land back. It is more along the lines of not accepting that some members of the Irish community didn't want to be catholic and the British vowing to protect their right to freedom of religion by partitioning off Northern Island. Of course these reasons were lost fairly quickly in the retribution and counter retribution that the conflict became.

JordannDavis ........
Britain, France and Australia declared war on Germany starting WW2.
Britain sent troops to nine occupied counties (Northern ireland) thats called an invasion.
The IRA wanted their country back whats wrong with that. So do the taliban by the way ..... nothing changes!

The falklands or the Malvinas are Argentine's. We stole them in our colonial days. ( Battleships and planes firing at each other and troops on the ground is a war by the way. )......... Nobhead
