So when he blasted fire it hit my follower and she attacked him. The words did not show up. i had to fight him. and after i killed him he would not talk. Dont attack him

I am watching this video as I am raging now and searching for explanation ,, I lost "Lydia" somewhere after i met "mother fuker Paarthuranx" and after i recovered the "elder scroll" I came back to him to find "Lydia dead there as she attacked him while i ws talking to him " and I just ignored SO I am gonna beat the shit out of him

Can somebody PLEASE tell me why the words aren't showing up on the wall? I didn't attack the dragon or anything, I just went through the dialog and shot fire at the wall, but then nothing happened. Could it be that I already have the first 2 fire breath shouts and Bethesda fucked up again to the point where I can't progress through the game just because I already have a damn shout or what? Somebody please tell me what's going wrong.
