Filmmaker John Landis examines THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE
Shot near Tarrytown, New York as "The Head That Wouldn't Die", this sleazy little gem sat unreleased for two years until AIP picked it up in 1962. Their numerous censor cuts for reasons of "good taste" (as if!) have been since restored and the whole sordid farrago is now available pretty much everywhere in its full, fuzzy public domain gory, er, glory.

"I'm not Mick Garris and this is Trailers from Hell... This was produced by a guy with the wonderful name of Rex Carlton, who mostly did porno..."
LMAO Shut up, Landis.

@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, i saw the MST3K version and thought it was hilarious. This may have been an influence on Re-Animator. It has the same type of tongue in cheek quality to it.

A fun, campy little horror flick. My father showed me this when i was 7 years old and i've loved it ever since.

A little creepy to hear John Landis making jokes about someone getting their head cut off since he was charged with the death of Vic Morrow who was decapitated by a helicopter blade in the section of Twilight Zone-The Movie that was directed by Landis. Still gotta love The Brain That Wouldn't Die tho.

What John Landis didn't mention is that the guy who gets his arm torn off already had one useless, crippled arm -- and the monster ripped off his GOOD arm!
Steve Martin parodied the scenes of the doctor cruising strippers and hookers for a perfect female body in "The Man With Two Brains."
