Hosted by Morgan Freeman, Through the Wormhole will explore the deepest mysteries of existence - the questions that have puzzled mankind for eternity. What are we made of? What was there before the beginning? Are we really alone? Is there a creator? These questions have been pondered by the most exquisite minds of the human race. Now, science has evolved to the point where hard facts and evidence may be able to provide us with answers instead of philosophical theories. Through the Wormhole will bring together the brightest minds and best ideas from the very edges of science - Astrophysics, Astrobiology, Quantum Mechanics, String Theory, and more - to reveal the extraordinary truth of our Universe.

  • If none of this had happened, you and me would still be stuck digging holes to plant corn and potato and we would still have to pay men and women to carry messages from one corner of the world to another simply to communicate with others many miles away. That required -a lot- of time. We could not afford to do many of the things we do now and take for granted.

We could not have had the world we have today without the surplus energies gained from technological advancement.

  • Machines did not completely and cannot completely replace physical labors, for even now humans must exercise and do many activities that machines cannot. The same can be said for virtual society. While phones (of all sorts) and internet chat/forums/blogs/etc have reduced the costs of social meetings, they cannot completely replace physical meetings. We still need to talk to others in person and meet them physically for a variety of reasons.

  • Machines partially freed us from physical labor. This gave us a time/energy surplus which we used to further expand our civilization. Information technology further freed us from clumsy and and cumbersome communication. This had the same effect as machines did, as it gave us surplus time/energy. We used this to further progress ourselves. Now we have virtual society, which has freed us from the high cost of social meetings.

None of this COMPLETELY frees us, but it does add to our surplus.

  • My theory is that there will be virtual selves and physical selves, but most humans will be part-time and exist in both states. We always imagined humans being cyborgs, always dependent on their bodies, always trying to repair them, always using them. But what I imagine is a future where there're a few people who live solely on computers and a few people who live solely in physical bodies, but most are inbetween and use bodies as vehicles.

  • Content claiming identification of areas of the brain connected to the experience has been identified decades ago by individuals. Credibility implied for machines to replace humans is sadly without substance.Transfer of human intelligence to tecnology will shortly control all human life, forcing mankind to receive harmful vaccinations, with deceitful claims that they MUST be vaccinated as they are spreading pandemics.GREEN campaigners will support such genocide. Save your soul. Chase NOT money

  • and btw, that is a pretty girl on a helmet.

  • @Saisen10 u didnt get what i mean. and i know so much about eisntein's life as i have been watching a lot of videos about him. what i mean is --- take a look at their hypothesis. these scientists say their opinions as if they are facts. i hate scientists who speculate rather than say : i dont know, let us find out.

only an idiot will believe in what these scientists are saying.... they are there, making opinions to gain fame.

So its fear that God will toss you into hell that gives you faith. This is just one reason many don't take religion seriously. You are supposed to love God for all that he has provided and for the teachings of the Bible that keep you going down a good path in life. Instead people treat God like a guy with a gun.

You know nothing of Albert Einstein's life and even less of what motivates the scientists in this film. Einstein traveled the world as part of a six-month excursion and speaking tour. He was treated like a celebrity during his travels. That doesn't mean he was a fame seeker and that goes for these people as well. This is just their way of spreading their work to as many people as they can. Wanting to spread your discoveries and fame seeking are two different things entirely.

  • 7:22 this guy helped you find new moons in your anus :O
