The PF9 is perfect for concealment being less than an inch thick and weighing in a 14.7 ounces with an empty magazine. The accessory rail also gives the user various options for lights and lasers. This weapon can by shot surprisingly accurate. It ranks well against its' competition at an unbeatable price.

  • So far after watching your reviews of the LC9, the PF9, and the DB 9, I think Im leaning toward the LC9. My biggest concern at this point id mode of carry. I truly like pocket carry and have been doing so with an air weight 642 for some years. I think I now need to hold this pistol in my hands and see if it will fit comfortable in both my every day wear and my Sunday wear. Thanks for doing these they are most helpful.

  • @Murph45acp I have the new assembly pins in the DB9 which I believe will correct that problem. The DB9 has the best trigger and certainly is the smallest. DB9s with a serial numbers past 9000 have the new pins. My PF9 will not run 100% plus I have a problem with the mag dropping about every 4th magazine. Although I don't like all the safeties on the LC9 or the trigger, it is very reliable and will get the job done. I think it is the best choice. Thank you for your comment.

  • I bought a new PF9 last week, and took it to the range yesterday. I had 9 FTE's in the 1st 33 rds. I changed ammo, and then finished w/ only 1 more FTE in the next 55 rds.

I'm wondering if the initial FTE's were operator related. I'm going to take the gun for another range trip b4 contacting Keltec. I'm able to shoot well w/ the nice sights, and the recoil is not bad.

  • @slightly01 I would put at least 200 rounds through the weapon before contacting Kel-Tec. These small pistols need at least a 200 round break in period before you can determine if they are reliable or not. I have had about 12 FTF in a little over 400 rounds. My PF9 is at Kel-Tec having the magazine catch and spring replaced. I would avoid sending it back if possible. They have had mine now for over a month. Not sure when I might get it back.

  • I like the kel-tec pf 9 another good backup gun. good video.

  • @donthebodyguard I really like it. If the new parts Kel-Tec send my fixes the magazine drop issue and I get it to run 100%, the weapon will one of my primary back guns. It shoots great.

  • If you had to choose between this or the LC9, price considered, which would you take. What's the better value in your opinion. Love your reviews, by the way. Nice channel.

  • If this is the size of CCW pistol for you and you love it .

Shooters having trouble with large hands or wearing gloves could MAYBE heat the trigger guard with a heat gun and push up and forward on the polymer trigger guard to give more room for your trigger finger .

It only costs $250 , if it goes wrong .

Just the same as using KYDEX with a hot gun , as long as say you cover the rest of the pistol frame with a heat retardant material like asbestos blanket that plumbers use .

  • @FirearmPatriot I wanted to correct my last comment to you. You were correct in stating that the gun was parkerized rather than blued. The more I looked at it and compared it to other parkerized guns the more I believed you are correct. I am not sure if the dealer meant to give me a blued version and instead gave me a parkerized for the blued price. However, I stand corrected and apologize for my inaccuracy. Thank you very much for your comment and pointing it out to me.

  • Thanks, I am confident that the gun will break in and be reliable, and that I will get used to shooting it.

  • Many PF9's went out with weak mag release springs, and I see in your comments that you have already replaced the mag spring. My mag release is very stiff, and will not release the mag without a significant purposeful push on the mag release button. 220 rounds thru my 3 week old PF9 without a single problem. Quick and dirty short video on my channel of the very first rounds I put thru it. Looking forward to your range report.
