Boteach's examples are laughable. "Who are we to decide to have a child in the first place?" The alternative to a kid being born means they won't exist in the first place, which means they can't object one way or the other. The alternative to a kid being circumcised, on the other hand, is...having a penis that is the way it's supposed to be. The man is a clown, he's talking complete and utter nonsense

Accidentally deleted my first comment. I am a woman who objects based on experience, have had both and yes circumcised do seem to enjoy it less. Circumcision negatively affects my biological ability as a woman to develop a deep pair bond with a partner. I believe Circumcision is actually a large part of what is leading to marriage breakdown; men also pair bond via intercourse. When a pair cannot fulfill each other sexually, this is when they will turn to pornography or other partners.

Further, the rate of HPV and cervical cancer is directly related to the NUMBER of unprotected partners and the AGE of first sexual encounter, NOT the presence of a foreskin. Development of HPV into Cervical cancer is related to the immune system's ability to clear this usually harmless virus. Our modern diet and lifestyle are also to blame here. HIV, the evidence is simply NOT compelling. Did Rabbi Boteach actually read the primary research articles himself?

@yitzthegreat I don't think Shmuley was being clever at all by dodging the true issue. All I saw was a desperate man who knew he didn't have a leg to stand on this debate. Either that, or he's deluded.

Eli is a smart man but not a debator.

1. Shmuley cleverly switched the issue of the negative effects of circumcision to the "wondrous beauty" of how it teaches man the morality of sexuality and how to respect women. a. This is clearly a perversion of the argument. I believe BOTH Shmuley and Eli do not argue that men should respect women. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHOP OFF A MAN'S PENIS TO TEACH HIM TO RESPECT WOMEN! b.
