  • This vid goes well with the Weak or Strong Grip vid. Seems like a stronger grip allows the hands to be farther ahead of the ball when the left wrist gets flat thus allowing more time for the face to square to the ball.

  • @synckd YES!! Fantastic comment!! Please read everyone!! And also look at my "golf pro lesson strike it pure" part 1 and 2"

  • Thanks for the vid. I'll try it next time on range as I found I am still releasing early when I video myself with hi-speed camera. Do you have any vids of using longer irons for this? It seems much harder to do with say a 5 iron where your hands may not be as far ahead.. and with a 3iron.

  • @frontnine59 That is what many think! If you go to my "golf pro lesson compress through the ball video and do it with a 3 iron, it will still go hard and into the air! It will look like you have almost 0 degrees loft and the ball will go about 20 feet into the air and long too!

  • Shawn, I love this bowing move--really helps my irons, but I have to weaken the grip slightly to use it with the driver. Otherwise, it delofts the club face too much and I hit really low, hooking shots. Thoughts?

  • @cockywatchman1976

agreed it has a slight side bend but its something that should be there naturally not being too concience over it because if you do you can cause a lot of unneeded movement in your swing maybe even a small loop. Just keeping your rest steady with a slight cock up top is best eliminate more errors

  • @cockywatchman1976 I get more in detail with the wrists in my "golf pro lesson flat wrist and hinged wrists" video; you will see the similarities with the complete tennis serve; Shawn

  • @johnc12344321 I'd agree with that. To me it's mainly a sideways bend, but also a little up! To say the right wrist just bends to the right is wrong in my mind and puts the club off plane

  • @cockywatchman1976

at address.. left your club face up 6" off the ground then.. cock your wrist straight up towards your forhead without bending your arms.. thats proper position of your right wrist what ever it is..

  • @clemshaw Brilliant. So I studied this and it appears left wrist is a complete upcock (cupped) and RIGHT wrist kind up bends AND cocks, kind of diagonal towards the thumbs. This is what I thought. I cant understand why there is instruction telling me the right wrist should NOT be upcocked at all and it is just a sideways bend....Im convinced this is wrong

  • @cockywatchman1976 See "golf pro lesson grip 2 wrist hinge" and "golf pro lesson bridging flat wrist with hinged wrists" Shawn
