I am using Photoshop CS2
Also I would like to thank Ryan Weiber as this is a very similar tutorial to his.

I just always used the pen tool to make a line and then add blending affects (outer glow) to it. That's a much easier way, and it looks almost just as good as doing it your way.

hey good job, this worked. you cold of explained how to merge down better but whatever, i figured it out.

accually, i managed to do this on Phoshop 5.0 Limited edition (on one of my computers, my 2 other computers have CS3)

When I merge down to have layer 1 and background, i can see only the first layer, the lightsaber and the rest is black. I cant see the man. how do i fix that?

im not exactly sure but retry it following the tutorial exactly like it says. If the problem persists I will try to figure it out

also make sure that you didnt do anything to the background layer

Its actually to pieces of music that i put together. At about 1:30 you can see i changed to a different song. The first one is battle of heroes and the second is the ending credits for star wars episode 3. You can find these on the Star Wars episode 3 soundtrack.
