Choices?! A Jonas Horror Story (Chapter 4)

Nick P.O.V

I was numb I couldn't feel anything just the pain of my heart ripping apart inside my chest. Why would anyone take Mel, she was the most kind, caring person I knew she wouldn't hurt a fly why would someone hurt her, then I felt my stomach drop I had hurt her only days before...

"Mr Jonas I take it your Melody Hall's boyfriend" the officer asked pulling me back to reality
"I...mmm...I" that's when it I felt like the room was spinning around me I wasn't her boyfriends not anymore she had dumped me over some stupid lie something that had never happened.
the last thing she said to me was how much she thought I was a jerk and I replied simply "good to know" before walking out never looking back never fighting for her never trying to make it up I just walked away and now she was gone.
She couldn't be I loved her she knew that right? She couldn't leave they couldn't hurt her. I could feel my blood rising at the thought of things he could be doing

"Mr. Jonas" the officers voice was so far away yet so full of concern I slowly grabbed my subconscious back but I couldn't speak in fear I would just break down there instead I just nodded unsure if he could see the moment but soon enough he was asking questions again
"I know it's must be extremely hard but I need to ask you some questions and talk to your father ok?" I looked up when he mentioned my father what did he have to do with anything
"My father?" I asked clearly confused he sighed before looking down at the floor
"Hmm... we think that maybe melody's abduction has something to do with you and your brothers"
"What!?" I shouted standing up the nurse at the front desk stood up and I sat down quietly
"Not you personally" he rushed
"Just your image your job...your money" he stated clearly troubled by the thought and so was I. I could feel my stomach drop. If it wasn't already completely empty it would have been now I felt sick that someone would have taken her for money

"I'll give it to them what they want" I stated confidently I would I would up everything to make sure she was safe. The man looked at me and smiled before patting my shoulder softly
"you're a good man son, but it's just a theory they or he hasn't been in touch yet but we want to talk to your father keep all your phones and calls under observation boost up your security just in case" I sighed not knowing what they wanted her for was killing me. Part of me wished they had of called already at least that way they couldn't have hurt her.

"You don't think they would try to take anyone else do you?" I asked concerned he starred at the wall for a good 30 seconds in thought before turning to me
"I don't think so he had an almost perfect chance to take miss Thomson today but he hardly touched her it's strange you would have thought he would have taken them both" I nodded in agreement it was strange he would just leave Chloe there if he was after money wouldnt he get more if he had both mine and Joes girlfriend.
"If I just had a word with Joseph quickly then were call it night and will be in touch tomorrow" I nodded softly the numbness had set in again. I couldn't feel anything lock in the nightmare of my own thoughts and fears.
I hardly noticed when Joe placed his hand on my shoulder softly pushing me back down into one of the seat before gradually leaving the room.

I just sat there in silence, it had only been a few seconds before I felt Chloe squeezed in next to me sitting on her knees wrapping her arms around me her hands rubbing my back soothingly
"I'm so sorry nick I'm so sorry" she whispered in my ear tears clear in her voice. I knew I should have comforted her.
It wasn't her thought she had tried her hardest heck she had a blow to the head to prove it but I couldn't speak I couldn't move I couldn't do anything not without her.
"She knows you love her nick she loves you to" she told me knowingly just like she had read my thoughts but I couldn't take her words Mel had been so angry at me they night Chloe's words couldnt change that.
I could feel Chloe take my cheeks in her hands wiping away my tears softly but that didn't stop them coming. After a while she gave up and stuck to holding me in her arms instead defeated just like I felt.
