Marié Digby - Second Home (Sample Songs) - Translated Titles/Artists/Info

I noticed some of the english-translated information for Marié Digby's Japanese cover album, Second Home, was incomplete. So, I decided to put this up with all the translated titles.

Disclaimer: I fell in love with the album the moment I finished hearing the samples, so the following may have a hint of bias ;-P .

This album covers a wide range of artists from many genres; Folk/traditional, Hard Rock, Punk, Alternative, J-Pop, and Ballad Singers.

The song selection also spans nearly two decades. From songs I had on cassette tapes, to tracks on my hard drive as MP3's.

Many of the selected artists are iconic powerhouses in Japanese music, making this instantly recognizeable and incredibly appealing for the Japanese market.

But, anyone with an appreciation for good music will enjoy this album as well. A majority of these songs are very popular, and a couple are Classics.

Just from the samples, I'm already loving the interpretations that Marié has made, so much so that I like several of them as much if not more than the originals.

It feels like such a great time right now to be a fan of Marié Digby. I heard of her about a month ago and I just had to find her debut album, Unfold, and buy it. There are great videos of her live performances, and so many engaging acoustic music videos of her performing solo on Youtube. In just a couple weeks, there will be lots of new content to listen to from this Japanese cover album. Her next album, Breathing Underwater, is scheduled for release in May of '09. Lastly, the album-tour to promote Breathing Underwater will give me a chance to see her live! And that's why I chose Q-Tip's, "Life is Better ft. Norah Jones" for the closing credits. Because like the lyrics say, "Life is better, now that I've found you." Marié songs and performances has rekindled my passion for music, and I've gone back to collecting albums and going out to listen to bands. Keep on doing your thing, Marié!

yea my first thought when i heard her singing in japanese, was...

OMG, she covered Nada Sou Sou? WOW. her covers are all interesting. i appreciate her voice more when she sings japanese, weirdly. i hope she gets to record an original japanese album!
