Prof. darshan Singh ji is a true khalsa who led sikh panth through the most difficult of times after the recent history of 1984/87 as the Jathedar of Akaal Takht the very authority which it self is victim of corrupt and decietful politicians and power hungery people who have no respect for the sikh religion. It was prof. sahib's way of preaching through kirtan that gave hope and sense of self respect to the sikh nation. May waheguru give prof. sahib the courage to continue with his sewa.

The greatest disadvantage of RELIGION is that it discourages discussion and free opinion. If we believe SIKH religion is the greatest religion then we must open this to discussion and free opinion. Only through education we can impact the world. I fully support Prof Darshan Singh who has been wrongly pronounced guilty by the politically appointed ignorant Jathedars.

@mailcnx I respectfully diagree you statement about religion. Sikhism is NOT religion it is a way of life. Its for that reason that it is Universal. SGGS does not objects to any discussions rather it encourages them. Banis like Sidh Gosht are examples of that. I can list various shabads that promote the same ideology. What our ten masters did was to proviode guidance (knowledge) like a flash light for a person in darkenss (ignorance). When we indulge in rituals we stray from Sikhism !

@himat408 Just ask yourself one question, How much time have I spent on understanding the grammatical & poetic nature of SGGS? Answer will be a few hours or days. Is that enough to declare that it is beyond our comprehension. I dedicated 4-5 hrs/day for a few years & concepts started to become crystal clear & Gurmukhi / Punjabi wasn't one of my school subjects ! Hukam is Gods constituiton by which He runs this world. When we defy His 'Laws' we get pain & when we abide we are in 'Bliss', simple !

@MrLionKhalsa i would have to disagree with you on one point. SGGS is not easy to understand. for most people in the west turning to the english material, it is a watered down explanation. open a steek and trying to comprehend such huge concepts as hukam is very difficult.
