They had different tunings back then. 440 was not standard and still isn't completely today. If you think its sped up because its higher pitch...

@saintmichael104 Supposedly Heifetz asked Waxman to write him a new Carmen Fantasy, one that was really difficult, because he (Heifetz) felt the Sarasate wasn't challenging enough for him. I don't know if that's true, but it's a good story. I believe the piece is also dedicated to him.

L.B.Kogan was king of techniaue. His sound not like Heifetz but his techniaue i thing more cleaner than Heifetz.
