Went down south with a few friends to explore Fort Ord, an old abandoned military base. The town that once housed many military officials is now a vast expanse of garbage and debris. Cinematically, the location is a filmmaker's dream. I only wish I had more time to film. There's always next time.

  • Wow your videos just keep getting better and better Doug! Everything you upload is so consistently great. I've always been curious how you pull off shots like the rising camera shot @ 0:15. Is it just hand held or something more complicated? Your shots are so smooth. Anyways keep the work coming :)

  • @Oarthies That one is actually a crane shot. I got a cheap crane off ebay that works pretty well. For the price, I can't really complain. The shot in the film is a bit shaky, but that's because the wind was acting up that day.

  • wow amazing was this handheld or you use a rig or steadycam ? very smooth and professional shots u did

  • @TheLifestyleflashy Almost all shots were on the Indifocus IndiSLIDER Pro. THe remainder of the static shots were just on tripod. Thanks for the compliment!

  • you are a major inspiration to me.

  • i swam in that pool in 1984

you should make a video of the a co 127 sig bn

it was more modern looking and had like a court yard in the center of it on a corner down from the fox hole club

or even the foxhole club that place was huge

they had a topless bar,a hard rock bar, a country western bar,a game room and aafees food place all in one building

they also had beer machines like coke machines in every day room

that place would get pretty crazy on the weekends

  • Nice!

  • I was there yesterday, I live in Aptos and I'm hoping to film an action short there soon...did you have to get any permits to film there?

  • motivate me brother

  • wonderful images... is fascinating that place..

  • Very Nice - I love the colours and the subtle camera movement.

    :D

  • hey Im considering going to UC Santa Cruz to major in film, could you give me an incite on what the film class is like over there? I hope it's not mainly based on theory but rather actual production.

the only differrence is that i can either afford a camera or a college :P

  • Loooove your videos!
