@pitic6419 that doesn't mean that we ignore tempo markings and take ridiculous amounts of time - this is awful.

Te Deum laudamus: te Dominum confitemur. Te aeternum patrem, omnis terra veneratur. Tibi omnes angeli, tibi caeli et universae potestates: tibi cherubim et seraphim, incessabili voce proclamant: “Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth. Pleni sunt caeli et terra majestatis gloriae tuae.” Te gloriosus Apostolorum chorus, te prophetarum laudabilis numerus, te martyrum candidatus laudat exercitus.

@Stevenana007 - As I know , Bruckner , Beethoven or other composers have written the music without to specifying in how many minutes must be performed .

Les tempi très larges de Célibidache mettent en exergue le caractère profondément religieux du compositeur et de l'oeuvre. Là encore, si les interprétations de Celibidache sont "particulières", ces oeuvres sont suffisamment complexes pour qu'on puisse s'attacher à les découvrir sous des angles différents. Nul ne détient une "vérité absolue" en la matière. Celi le disait lui-même. Le tout est que la Musique nous apporte l'Elévation. Ici, c'est sans aucun doute le cas!!

If it was meant to take this long, Bruckner would have written more notes. I have small ears and a bad heart then!

Celibidache a toute sa vie durant soutenu l'oeuvre de Bruckner, et pourtant il en a livré les interprétations les plus difficiles à écouter. Il n'est pas question de prendre ses exécutions à la légère ; il est en recherche d'absolu, il est en quête de Dieu. Ses paroles sont claires comme de l'eau de roche, te deum laudamo !
Le tempo si lourd du chef d'orchestre n'est que le passe pour la légèreté absolue, l'envol de l'âme. On entend chaque nuance, chaque mouvement est décisif.

"Patrem immensae maiestatis" !!! this is not only as clear and transparent as possible, not only legato as it has to be, but you can also hear what is meant in the text. Thats the most enthusiastic performance I know! Too slow? Nooo, only for people with bad ears and a small heart!
