Locke and Celes eventually make their escape from South Figaro. As they travel through a cave on the way to Narshe, a giant machine named TunnelArmr intercepts them. Celes keeps her composure by demonstrating her ability to absorb magic attacks with her Runic command. They defeat the machine and have a smooth sailing to Narshe. Sabin, who was separated from the main group at the Lete River finds himself far from his destiination, and it won't be easy to get back on track. He encounters Shadow, who is willing to show him a path to Narshe, but requires a detour to a newly- established Imperial Camp. As they come to understand the situation, the Imperial soldiers head to Doma Castle to attack it. With the citizens of Doma losing all hope, their retainer, Cyan, comes in to save the day.

About the Clip: Using ZSNES v1.51, I first recorded the gameplay as a ZMV. Then I dumped the video footage using ZSNES' movie dumping feature. The RAW dumps serve as an excellent way to get a pristine source, since all the color information remains intact. Next, I used various common video tools to edit the video for YouTube, including: AVISynth, VirtualDub, BeSweet, Lagarith Lossless Codec, x264, Nero AAC and mkvtoolnix. I've also used the AVISynth filter MVtools2 for a motion blur effect. It creates artifacts, but also compensates some of the motion from the framerate being cut in half. Sorry if it's undesirable.

  • @eviliu Thanks. Unfortunately I never got the chance to finish up. Was working on a 2nd, cleaner play-through last month with a near-perfect emulator, but youtube is throwing fits at 1080p video with a 4:3 aspect ratio. I still have the re-recordings sitting here, so I'll find a workaround sooner or later.

  • I was looking for where all the hidden chests are (Where the ribbon is), and stumbled across your playthrough. Your renders are beautiful. Great job, thank you.
