Making a stellar first impression at a job interview has never been more important and to help us dress for success we turned to style expert, Amy Goodman!

So Amy whats the first thing to consider when dressing for an interview?

Amy: "Well the most important thing to remember is that every industry has its own set of style rules. If youre applying for a job in a conservative field such as law or banking, stick with traditional attire. More creative industries like advertising and graphic design typically have a more relaxed, business-casual dress code.

Always research the company youre interviewing with. Look online for photos of employees and take your cues from the way they dress."

What can you do to stand out?

Amy: "Choose one accessory that really stands out and brings your outfit together. That might be a colorful scarf, earrings, shoes with unique detailing, or an eye catching watch.

I suggest watches from Timex. Their womens T-Series Chronograph is colorful and has an oversized dial, so youre making a fashion statement and letting your potential employer know that youre reliable and value efficiency.

Guys can offset an otherwise conservative outfit with a bold, colorful tie, an oversized watch or a sleek briefcase. These are the things that may just help an interviewer remember you in a sea of candidates."

Any final tips?

Amy: "Be polished and composed for your interview by preparing your outfit the night before. Try everything on. If anything is too short, too tight or lowcut, find something else to wear. Make sure your clothing is wrinkle and stain-free, and check your shoes for scuffs!
