  • Nuclear deterrence has always been and will always be methods of a world that has rationalized madness. I hope we don't ever forget this.

  • @KitCloudkickerUK I've seen "Threads" and every other film of that sort as well. They are horrifying depictions of a failure to prevent a nuclear war. We create nuclear weapons with the ability to use them but not the intention. Their existence is predicated on never having to need them because they exist. Not having them is what would have led to doom during the cold war because our adversaries would still have created them even if we hadn't. These are the most successful weapons in history.

  • @duncanedwards036 "These are the most successful weapons in history" Until someone pushes the button then it's all bollocks.

  • @MrZambology I think he was referring to deterence. Because both sides have them, neither will use them (Mutually Assured Destruction).

This does not, however, prevent conventional war (non-nuke). That will continue to happen just as Plato predicted long ago when he famously said:

"Only the dead have seen the end of war."

Having said this, there WILL come a day when a dirty bomb is used (probably against the US). It is almost inevitable.

  • Nuclear weapons are an affront against humanity. If they are "the most successful weapons in history why are we continually at war?

  • Please remember; land based ICBM has a 30 minute flight time from Montana, North Dakota or wyoming TO Russia and viseversa per their successful launches. Nothing matters in less than thirty minutes from snap count. We wouldnt be here today if we didnt have them. Dont forget russias aggression in the 40's.

  • missile command thank you

  • @duncanedwards036 I bet the russians said the same. All in all nuclear weapons are absolute madness...Whoever has them.

  • launching of democracy )

  • Anyone else counting down for like a minute?

  • Ouch. Sucks to be on the other side of that...

  • wow couple minutes and millions of people turned to ash!!!
